Not quite a disaster and not quite a success, Walk of Shame ebbs and flows between being very funny and painfully not. Elizabeth Banks continues to be one of film’s most reliable comediennes, but you have to wonder when she’ll get better material to sink her comedic teeth into. The rest of the cast is mostly unremarkable: James Marsden revives his tough-sexy-guy-with-a-heart-of-gold routine for the one billionth time and Gillian Jacobs and Sarah Wright combine to form Banks’ woefully simple friends. Ultimately, it is a forgettable romp of crazy circumstance after crazy circumstance. No need to think any harder about this title.
