Happy Turkey Day everyone! Especially those die-hard Star Wars fans with nothing to do on Black Friday…your schedule has filled up. Well, at least for 88 seconds!

Earlier this week, J.J. Abrams announced that the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens trailer would hit select theaters on Black Friday. In a special arrangement with a group of cinemas around the country, the trailer will play in front of all movies for one day only. Yay – time to go to the movies, right?

That’s what I was thinking too but in a move that I can only describe as confusing, it will also be released on iTunes tomorrow. What? It seemed like a nice gesture on behalf of Disney to give a jolt to the Thanksgiving box office by pushing people there that otherwise wouldn’t be, but now I can watch it in the comfort of my own home while eating leftovers? Hell yeah – screw going to the movies, right?

Anyways, marketing logic aside, I’m sure every nerd is excited to see the new characters and plot points, but I think seeing the old gang back together again will get everyone jazzed. My analysis and review of the trailer will be up tomorrow.
