Every year I watch a dozen or so movies that I immediately forget about once the credits are finished. Cuban Fury is part of that group, which is a shame because there are a lot of great parts in it. Nick Frost is actually a pretty solid leading man after years of playing second fiddle to buddy Simon Pegg, but the material here (developed by Frost) is just not up to snuff. Actor Kayvan Novak is another bright spot in an otherwise mediocre film that, while ambitious, falls into the typical romantic comedy trope early and never recovers.
