Anarchy sets out to expand upon the small, single-home world of The Purge, and show us this horrific new tradition in larger context. In spite of the new locations and wider cast, Anarchy fails to do anything new here. The characters are so typical that they fail to be even remotely sympathetic, and the set pieces are incredibly predictable and repetitive. The “social commentary” here is hardly worth mentioning, it’s so basic and uninspired. Ultimately, this is basically the same movie as the first, just boring-er.
